Web 2.0 Assistant

Hours: approx. 10 hrs/month, flexible
Salary: TBD by Executive Director
Purpose: PKIDs is seeking someone with experience using Web 2.0 social networking websites and applications for the purpose of expanding and diversifying PKIDs’ Internet presence through use of such sites and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiating and/or maintaining online presence* at the following sites (including but not limited to):
- Facebook
- MySpace
- Flickr (including tagging, captions)
- Twitter
- YouTube
- Occasional posting to blogs/newsfeeds
- Keep track of all websites PKIDs is being posted to and the corresponding account names, user names, passwords, etc
- Proposing new ideas for use of new/existing Web 2.0-type social networking apps/websites
* Materials for uploading/posting (photos, text, etc) will be provided to the employee by PKIDs
Qualifications:
- 1 or more year(s) of experience working with Web 2.0 apps/websites
- Organized, reliable
- Effective communicator via phone and email
Requirements:
- High-speed internet connection
- Word 2007 and whatever is necessary to use the Web 2.0 applications and access the websites
- About 2 GB hard disk space available for PKIDs items
- Belief in use of evidence-based science when determining cause/effect (for instance, PKIDs believes that, based on evidence, vaccines do not cause autism). Because you would be helping to put forth PKIDs’ stance on questions/issues, you would need to share the organization’s beliefs.
